Healthy Living Kansas is a research and outreach program at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health. The program represents a long-standing commitment to cancer screening initiatives with the purpose of reducing cancer-related morbidity and mortality and improving the lives of Kansans. Healthy Living Kansas was born out of projects designed to identify methods to promote cancer screening test utilization. The program has grown exponentially and now is dually focused on advancing cancer control and population health research and local and regional outreach efforts to support breast health. HLK has worked with underserved communities across the state to provide breast cancer awareness and prevention education and promote breast cancer screening.
